Service Provider Partnering

LinkedIn and Facebook are examples of service providers sharing content and messages among subscribers. Identity agents would enable their subscribers to create digital identities for logging in rather than a password. The digital identities could potentially be used to secure peer-to-peer collaboration, affix attestations with digital seals to documents and consent tokens, and log into other service providers.

LinkedIn users would create digital business cards for sharing professional content while Facebook users would create digital personal cards for sharing content with family and friends. Digital business cards would be sealed (branded) with LinkedIn’s logo, and digital personal cards would be sealed (branded) with Facebook’s logo. LinkedIn users could use their digital business cards to safely log into LinkedIn without using passwords, while Facebook users could use their digital personal cards to sign into Facebook without using passwords. Moreover, LinkedIn and Facebook users could use their branded digital identities to collaborate securely with each other (peer-to-peer) via email, SMS, Zoom, etc.; log into and use online services offered by other providers; and potentially, use them to log into both LinkedIn and Facebook. This project would be a stepping stone to extending the reach and scope of the technology.
